Left Wing Pláticas Discussion Points

We are continuing the Copa Comunidad tradition of holding community pláticas, or discussions. This is an opportunity to discuss where are we now and where we are going, both in our local Left Wing community and as a national network of teams. We have a prepared a few questions for you to consider:

  • What are some positive things happening in your Left Wing community with Sunday fútbol, etc.?
  • What’s working well?
  • What are your challenges (growth, sustainability, etc.)?
  • Copa Comunidad frequency and location: There are currently two Copas per year, one during Memorial Day weekend in California (Oakland or LA) and one during Labor Day weekend in the Twin Cities or DC. If we hope to continue to grow and sustain our national Left Wing community, do we continue with this Copa format or is there room and/or a need to modify it? What is the purpose of Copa and are we accomplishing that with the current frequency/location format?
  • How do we more strongly incorporate womyn-identified/gender-non-conforming/trans folks into fútbol overall?
  • Other topics or suggestions?

About the Food

All meals have vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options. Produced local and organic when possible. We support South Central Farms and front yard farmers everywhere.
